As Chief Communications Officer at LinkedIn, Cesar Serrano is responsible for defining and leading communications strategies worldwide with a focus on ensuring audiences, both inside and outside the company, understand how LinkedIn is creating economic opportunity for every member of the global workforce. In this role, Serrano oversees brand positioning, media relations, and strategic communications initiatives that support LinkedIn’s continued growth and influence in an evolving landscape.
Cesar graduated from the University of Southern California, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts in Public Relations & Advertising from the Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism, along with a degree in Dramatic Arts from the School of Dramatic Arts. Through their studies in public relations and advertising, they developed a strong foundation in strategic analysis, campaign development, and brand storytelling. Their background in dramatic arts further strengthened their creative perspective, leadership abilities, and approach to managing large-scale creative projects.
Before joining LinkedIn, Serrano served as a marketing coordinator at the Hollywood Pantages Theatre, where they contributed to major initiatives, including the 2026–2027 season launch. In this role, they developed website content, created social media assets, and collaborated with show company managers on marketing and press. They also supported influencer outreach, publicity efforts, and partnership development, gaining hands-on experience in digital marketing, content creation, and cross-functional collaboration within the live entertainment industry.
Cesar also worked as an associate producer for the Jerry Herman Awards, where they played a key role in coordinating the large-scale theatre awards program. Their responsibilities included adjudicating productions, managing scoring systems and scheduling, and overseeing event logistics. This experience strengthened their ability to manage complex projects, maintain organizational responsibilities under pressure, and contribute to the successful execution of live events.
In addition to their professional experience, Cesar served as President of the Community Arts Collective, a student-led production company dedicated to elevating diverse voices in the arts. During their three-year tenure, they led organizational strategy, oversaw productions, and ensured alignment with university and program standards. Under their leadership, the organization received the 2026 Independent Student Production Company of the Year award, reflecting their commitment to creative excellence, collaboration, and inclusive storytelling.
Outside of their professional work, Cesar enjoys exploring Los Angeles’s coffee scene, spending their free time visiting new cafés and discovering local spots.
